ÖSD

Internationally recognized certification of German language from the Austrian state. ÖSD is a member of ALTE (The Association of Language Testers in Europe). The ÖSD exams correspond to the language proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the “Profile deutsch”. ÖSD certificates are recognized in all German-speaking countries and by the A.S.E.P (Supreme Personnel Selection Council). ÖSD certificates do not have an expiration date.
The ÖSD is collaborating with the German Goethe Institute on the new exam model for level B1. For this reason, the exam format and certification are the same. The initials ÖSD have a double meaning: “Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch” (Austrian German Language Diploma) and “Österreich, Schweiz, Deutschland” (Austria, Switzerland, Germany). This emphasizes the equal recognition of ÖSD certificates in all German-speaking countries, both for admission to higher education institutions and for the recognition of professional qualifications. The holder of ÖSD certificates has direct access and the possibility of advancement at an academic level, but also in the broad job market of all German-speaking countries.
