State Language Learning Agency

The State Certificate of Language Proficiency (SCGL) is an examination system that aims to certify different levels of "knowledge" of a foreign language, that is, it examines the degree of ability that someone has developed to understand and produce written and spoken language in that language. The State Language Certificate exams are organized by the Directorate for Certification of Foreign Language Proficiency of the Ministry of Education and are held twice a year, in May and November.

The KPG is recognized as proof of knowledge of a foreign language in the country's Higher Educational Institutions, it is included in the "qualifications" of ASEP, but also in all bilateral educational agreements concluded by the Ministry.

The exams concern the following levels:
  • Α1 "Elementary Knowledge"

  • Α2 "Basic Knowledge"

  • Β1 "Average Knowledge"

  • Β2 "Good Knowledge"

  • Γ1 "Very Good Knowledge"
